Katherine is a person-centred counsellor, with over 20 years' experience of delivering emotional support services. She is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
From Katherine:
I’m a perceptive, warm and understanding therapist, trained in the person-centred approach. I believe counselling can be effective and empowering, offering a useful place in which to address specific issues, come to terms with difficult experiences, and understand yourself - and your relationships with others - better.
My way of working is to help you explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, within a collaborative therapeutic relationship which values you for the person you are.
I work with adults from a diverse range of backgrounds, with a variety of issues, including anxiety and depression, family and relationship problems, work-related stress, loneliness, separation and divorce, carer support and bereavement.
I have extensive experience of counselling women as they prepare for and adjust to motherhood, and I've co-facilitated a support group for new mums.
My background is in delivering support services to people with long-term conditions such as Parkinson's disease and dementia, and their carers, families and friends. Alongside my counselling practice, I still do some work in this area.
