Emilia is a pychodynamic psychotherapeutic counsellor offering short and long term individual counselling to young adults (18+) and adults.
From Emilia:
In my practice, I aim to provide a warm, supportive and collaborative space to explore with you, at your own pace, any thoughts, feelings or difficult experiences you may be having. We would work together to increase your self-understanding and shed light on the sources of your struggles.
I work with a range of issues including anxiety and depression, family problems, loss and bereavement, relationship difficulties, physical illness or health problems, traumatic experiences in childhood and/or later life.
The psychodynamic approach is at the heart of my practice. Psychodynamic counselling seeks to explore the underlying causes of our difficulties in order to bring about meaningful change. It focuses on our past experiences and the ways these may have contributed to our development, often serving as a template for how we relate to ourselves and others in the present.
I hold a Masters in Psychodynamic Practice from the University of Oxford and am a registered member of both the BACP and the UPCA. I am committed to attending regular supervision and CPD training opportunities. Doing so enables me to work more effectively with my clients.
