Caitlin is an existential psychotherapist registered with the BACP and working towards full UKCP accreditation.
From Caitlin:
For me, psychotherapy is the pursuit of freedom. Effective psychotherapy promotes a more free and joyful existence because of the increased sense of autonomy and authenticity the work can bring. My approach is hopeful, underpinned by a fundamental belief in our capacity for change. I'm curious about how personal freedom to choose, to express oneself, and to take responsibility gets limited in living. I can challenge you to look at things afresh, illuminate unrecognised parts of you, support you in making sense of your struggle, really listen, and through our relationship provide insight into how you are with others. You may begin to process your past, find clarity in your present, and explore new possibilities for your future.
I believe that everybody's life experience matters, in the power of talking and in how the right therapeutic relationship can make a genuine difference to one’s life.
I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients and welcome all adults to my practice. My principal experience is with young people (18 – 35 yrs), women affected by violence and abuse, refugee and migrant women, and LGBTQ+ people. I work with relationship issues of all kinds, trauma, anger, anxiety, abuse, identity, panic, isolation, confusion, self-esteem, trappedness, discrimination, hopelessness, cultural issues, depression and loss.
