Bridget is a BACP registered counsellor and supervisor, and is trained in an integrative approach.
From Bridget:
If you ever feel as though you are not being fully seen or heard, therapy can offer a chance to change that. It can be very powerful to feel acceptance and empathy from someone who has no vested interest in your interpretations of your life, and any decisions you make.
You may be exploring therapy because of something specific, a bereavement, a crisis or traumatic event. Or you may have a more general sense of wanting to learn about yourself and to grow. My role as your therapist is to see you for the individual you are, to listen without judgment and to work collaboratively with you through challenges, past and present.
We are all influenced heavily - but not irreparably - by our past. I recognise inequality and oppression can make change challenging, but I believe in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship, and its ability to bring about growth. Therapy can provide grounding in a crisis, and can help understand and ultimately manage the painful emotions you may be feeling. I can offer that in a confidential, comfortable space, and support you in untangling what is happening for you.
I have experience in a variety of settings, and with a wide range of issues and client backgrounds. I work with individuals, and with couples or other relationship structures. I also offer clinical supervision to other therapists, and organisations looking for therapeutic consultation. I'm happy to talk with you about working short or long-term, and will be led by your needs. Get in touch if you'd like to talk about working with me.
